Taiwan Travel Guide: Beitou Thermal Valley Spring

In his hand are the depths of the earth;

the heights of the mountains are his also.

The sea is his, for he made it,

and his hands formed the dry land.

BEITOU THERMAL VALLEY

           Located at the depression formed between Wenquan Road and Zhongshan Road in Beitou,  this geothermal spring is a 3500 square meters in size. Its has a temperature of 65°C and 100°C and is the hottest spring in Datun Volcano Group. The strong scent of the spring is caused by green sulfur erupted  from a natural cauldron. This also caused the jade like appearance of the spring.

It is said the the green sulfur spring has healing effects. Therefore, it is available for users in Xinbeitou and Beitou Public hot Spring.

This cute waterfalls on the corner.

Before, tourist are allowed to boil eggs here but for safety reasons and preservation of the spring, fences are placed around.

After your tour, you can  buy eggs outside boiled in the spring for NT$10.00  It really taste good!

The eerie, surreal and mesmerizing view of the steam rising from the spring is a great reason for you to visit this place.  I highly recommend it. 🙂
